Q1: Is animation a “real” career?
A: Time Magazine listed animation as one of the “Top 10 careers of the Future”. We happen to agree.

Q2: What makes your school any better than the others?
A: We make sure that our students graduate as animators and not simply software operators. Being able to use Excel software for example doesn’t automatically mean that you’re an accountant.

Q3: Will I be able to find a job once I graduate?
A: We work closely with industry professionals, showcase our students work at every given opportunity and open as many doors as possible. The rest is up to you.

Q4: Does animation mean that you only get to work in movies?
A In addition to TV and film work, many of our graduates have found work in the field of game design and development, advertising, web design, cellular phone development, architecture, medical technology and more. Some have even gone on to establish their own companies.

Q5: Is acceptance to the school automatic?
A: No. We ask all students to submit an art portfolio and meet us for an interview (in person or over the phone). We won’t take your money if we don’t feel that the school is the right place for you.

Q6: Other institutions are promising me that I will be able to walk into a job after graduation. What can I expect from your school?
A: We don’t promise you the moon, just a serious competitive edge. After successfully finishing our 3-year full time course, you would have developed and refined your artistic talent to an entry-level skills level for acceptance in the highly competitive animation industry.

Q7: Is a qualification from The Animation School internationally recognised?
A: Yes. We undergo regular accreditation assessments from the relevant bodies to ensure that our standards are as high as they should be.

Q8: Will I get lost in the crowd?
A: No. We keep our classes deliberately small so that we can give you the best personalised attention possible.         

Q9: I don’t live in Cape Town, where can I stay?
A: We have comfortable and secure live-in accommodation facilities available for rent at The Animation School.  Contact us to find out more.

Q10: What additional equipment will I need?
A: You bring the passion and we’ll supply the rest. We have all the latest internationally accepted software and hardware equipment that you could ever need.
